Shipping and Returns Policy
Our delicate chocolate confections are selectively sourced from chocolatiers who pride themselves in the quality of their creations. We strive to ensure that our offerings are crafted from the finest and freshest ingredients without any use of preservatives. Shipping our product to you in a safe, quick and cool manner is thus a key priority for us so that you can receive them in a manner that preserves their quality and relish them in the best condition.
Shipping terms and prices are subject to change, so please check this section regularly.
Calculation of Shipping Charges
Shipping charges are reflected during the checkout process and are calculated using the following criteria:
a. The total weight of the items shipped (gross weight of total orders).
b. Special shipping/packaging requirements (e.g. warm weather packaging).
c. The shipping option chosen (e.g. ground or air).
d. The shipping destination (only within the US).
Destinations and Shipping Options
We strive to guarantee quick and timely delivery, so we only ship within the USA. For our chocolate offerings, we thus only offer options that allow for a two day transit/delivery time-frame. Under normal operating conditions, we offer the following options:

Chocolaterre reserves the right to alter a shipping option to a destination within the USA that potentially could take more than 2 days (e.g. certain rural destinations or zip codes). The contact e-mail requested during the check-out process is used, if necessary, to inform you of the proposed shipping option change and allow you an option to continue with the order or not.
Due to shipping restrictions, we do not ship to PO, APO, AFB or FPO Addresses. A phone number is needed for a street address with a rural route box, highway or star route for the order to be accepted. Street/apartment/unit/ suite/floor numbers must be included in the shipment address to ensure correct delivery.
Cool Weather Shipping and Packaging
During the cooler weather months (Oct 15th to Apr 14th), shipments will normally be sent using our normal limited-insulated packaging. Customers will have an option to always specify and purchase the specially insulated packaging during these cooler months.
Warm Weather Shipping and Packaging
Warm weather packaging will be used in one or more of the following circumstances:
e. During the warm weather months (April 15th to October 14th).
f. All-year round destinations to Southern states.
g. Any period where the shipping source and/or delivery destination temperatures exceed 70°F.
Under these circumstances our standard terms will be as follows:
- 2nd Day Air
- Ground Shipping (where deemed safe)
- Shipping box with insulating styrofoam and gel ice
Charges relating to warm weather shipping and packaging will be displayed during the check-out process. If a shipping option is selected and weather conditions do not permit for the safe and efficient transit of your order, we may change the shipping option at our discretion. We will not be responsible for any damages caused where the shipping recommended by Chocolaterre is not used. Your contact e-mail will, if necessary, be used to inform you of the proposed shipping option change and allow you an option to continue with the order or not.
The Placing and Shipping of Orders
To prevent a weekend delay of your order in the shipper’s warehouse, the following order placement and shipping timeframes will apply:
- Orders for 2-day air shipments and ground shipments are shipped Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays only.
- Orders for overnight shipments are shipped Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only.
- Orders placed on Thursdays, Fridays and on the weekend will be shipped on the following Monday, provided that an order placed on a Thursday or Friday may be shipped prior to and delivered on a Saturday if the shipping service provides for Saturday delivery.
If you wish to order and receive your items on a particular day, such as an anniversary or birthday, please inform us by entering the request in the “special instructions” section provided during checkout process.
While all possible precautions are taken to ensure that your orders are delivered on or before the day required, it is possible that delays may occur due to adverse weather conditions or factors beyond Chocolaterre’s or the shipper’s control. It is thus best to always order earlier.
Due to high volumes during certain times of the year, it will not always be possible to guarantee delivery on a specific date. Please use the UPS website to determine specific shipping times.

Special and Urgent Needs or Requirements
We will always attempt to expedite a delivery for you at your request. If any of the options we currently offer do not meet any urgent or specific requirements you might have, please contact us on indulge@chocolaterre.com or on 1-888-700-1112 and we will do our best to accommodate you or recommend practical alternatives. You may also specify your request under the “special instructions” section during the checkout process.
Delivery Signatures
Our standard shipping terms require a signature on receipt of the order. While not recommended, an option exists during the checkout process where you may indicate if you would like the carrier to leave the package without a delivery signature. If you do select this option, you agree to indemnify and hold the carrier (UPS/FedEx/USPS) and Chocolaterre harmless from any resulting claim.
Tracking Your Order
Chocolaterre or the carrier selected will send you a status and/or confirmation e-mail with your tracking number. If you believe there is a problem with your order, please contact us at indulge@chocolaterre.com or 1-888-700-1112. Your order may also be tracked on www.ups.com
Returns
Our philosophy is to source ultra-premium products and/or ingredients from some of the best craftsmen and chocolatiers in the world. We also ensure that your order is handled and shipped in an efficient and effective manner so that it may be received in the best possible condition. While all sales are considered final, please inform us immediately of any particular quality-related problem, that might occur, by contacting us at indulge@chocolaterre.com or 1-888-700-1112 so that we can attempt to address and rectify any legitimate situation. Credits or replacements will be issued at our discretion.
Our offerings do not have preservatives in them and thus have a limited shelf life. They need to be enjoyed and consumed before the end of the date indicated on the product packaging. No returns will be accepted whose “use by” date has expired.
